Welcome to Long Riders® Magazine Digitized!
If you haven't already downloaded LONG RIDERS® MAGAZINE or purchased a CD, then do so now HERE!
You have just subscribed to the only FULL COLOR Interactive motorcycle magazine. First time readers may need a little help getting started so be patient. Here we go!
*SETTING UP YOUR SOFTWARE ONLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ONE TIME BEFORE READING YOUR FIRST ISSUE. AFTER THAT, NO MORE SET UP IS REQUIRED!

STEP ONE: Software Requirements
|
|
*NOTE: Most computers come with Adobe Acrobat Reader and QuickTime Player already installed, so you may want to check before proceeding. (If you have an older version of these programs you may not be able to enjoy all of the extras.)
Acrobat Reader 6.0 and newer will allow you to enjoy all interactive extras in the PDF. Acrobat Reader 5.0 users will be able to read and use web links but not enjoy the video.
CD Subscribers: Adobe Acrobat Reader and QuickTime Player installers come with your CD.
Download Subscribers: You can find a link online at http://www.longridersmagazine.com/subscribe.htm or go directly to the web sites listed below.
Adobe Acrobat Reader
Acrobat Reader is needed to view the digital Long Riders Magazine.
• Windows (PC users) and MAC OS users can download a FREE Adobe Acrobat reader online at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
QuickTime Player
QuickTime player is needed to view video and hear audio.
• Window (PC users) and MAC OS users can download a FREE QuickTime player online at www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Remember, the READER and PLAYER are FREE, do not worry about getting billed. When istalling Acrobat Reader one prompt window asks you to register the software, just say OK. No need to register.

STEP TWO: Software Installation
|
Install your FREE Acrobat Reader and QuickTime Player into your computer.
If you need help with your installation read the instructions online where you retrieved the downloads or give us a call at 717-234-8705 EST. 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, monday thru friday.

STEP THREE: Downloading/copying the issue to your computer.
|
• Download your LONG RIDERS® MAGAZINE issue to your computer or copy the PDF file from your CD to your computer.
Example: LR_March_2007_broadband.pdf
Open Acrobat Reader, (It is not necessary to open QuickTime. When the video areas are activated, Acrobat Reader will seek out QuickTime Player on it's own. You may be prompted to download Media Player. This is not necessary if you've install QuickTime Player.)• Go to FILE/open and open yourLR_March_2007_broadband.pdf or LR_March_2007_dialup.pdf issue.
*The BROADBAND version has embedded video and audio, which is not incorporated in the dialup version.

| STEP FOUR: Navigating through the issue |
There are many ways to navigate through your Long Riders® Magazine PDF.First Way!
Once you've opened your issue in Acrobat Reader:
FIRST Way!
• Click on the "BOOKMARKS TAB" on the left side of the magazine, if it is not already visible.• Click on each arrow to open the category.• Finally, click on the page you want to view.
*REMEMBER that those who choose to use "BOOKMARKS" will get hidden audio clips just by clicking the page. YOU CHOOSE!
Second Way!
• Use the scroll bar on the right side of your window to move up, down left, and right.
Third Way!
• Use your hand tool to move pages around.
Final Way!
• Click the "PAGE TAB" or "THUMBNAILS TAB" on the left side of your window. From there you can click on the page you want to view.

As you navigate throughout the issue, watch for "CLICK ME", "CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO", "CLICK HERE", or anywhere else it says CLICK. These areas launch video, web site links and more.

| TROUBLESHOOTING |
|
Problem: The Videos won't play when I click on them a second time.
Fix: Close Long Riders PDF and Acrobat reader. Then restart. This should fix the problem.
Problem: I don't hear any sound.
Fix: Check your speakers to make sure they are turned on. Check volume. Make sure QuickTime Player is installed. Give the sound a chance to load.
Problem: Pages are too small, can't see text clearly.
Fix: Look for magnifying glass in your tool bar. Click magnifying glass. Drag across area to enlarge.
Problem: I can't copy text or photos.
Fix: Embedded security will not allow this action.
Problem: I don't see my table of contents bookmarks or thumbnails.
Fix: Click on bookmarks tab or page/thumbnails tab on the left side of your screen.
Problem: I click on web site links and they don't go to the web site.
Fix: You need to be logged on to the internet or you do not have Internet access.
